Brooke and Caleb Anderson of Mahtowa have honed their musical sound in the living room of their small beef farm, after the kids go to bed. While mostly seen playing with the Minorbirds or Holy Hootenanners, the two have recently taken to performing as a duo. Brooke is an accomplished songwriter and crafts contemplative folk songs about motherhood, literature, and life. She holds down a rhythm with her guitar or mandolin, while tapping both feet with a stomp box and foot tambourine. Caleb flavors each song with his piano styles of gospel, blues, and country, which is never short of adventurous.
